Position Summary
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager manages Heath’s warehouse and shipping operations with a focus on daily execution, inventory flow, and on-time fulfillment. This person is responsible for leading a team to meet operational goals, maintain quality and safety standards, and continuously improve warehouse processes. The role requires strong attention to detail, hands-on leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional partners to support customer satisfaction and internal operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Leads the daily operations of the Warehouse and Shipping teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely order fulfillment.
- Oversees staffing, workflow coordination, and shift prioritization across receiving, inventory, and shipping functions.
- Manages transportation operations, including oversight of drivers, inter-facility transfers, and coordination with freight carriers for domestic and international shipments.
- Tracks and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) related to order accuracy, productivity, timeliness, and safety.
- Identifies and implements process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and support continuous improvement goals.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and operational standards.
- Develops, coaches, and supports Supervisors and team members through regular feedback, training, and performance management.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to coordinate product transfers, packaging changes, and support special projects or events.
- Oversees warehouse recycling, zero waste processes, and waste handling in alignment with company sustainability practices.
- Ensures shipping processes meet requirements for domestic and international orders, including customs documentation when applicable.
- Procures and manages supplies for the warehouse and coordinates distribution of select shared-use materials across locations, including negotiation with supply vendors and freight carriers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional working experience in logistics, warehouse, or operations management
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing warehouse or shipping operations, including direct supervision of team
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Effective cross-functional communication and coordination
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Knowledge of Lean principles and warehouse best practices preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Netsuite preferred) and inventory tracking tools
- Experience using shipping platforms (e.g., UPS WorldShip, Pacejet, Stamps.com)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Regular bending, reaching, and movement throughout the warehouse
- Repetitive motion involving hands and wrists (e.g., handling materials, using tools)
- Requires sustained attention to detail, task-switching, and decision-making in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts
Work Environment / Hours / Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position, onsite Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours during peak periods (November and December), at our warehouse located in The Mission District. The salary range for this position is $87,000 – $100,000, based on experience.
Only Bay Area candidates will be considered.
