This role supports the Raw Materials area by following recipes, preparing materials, maintaining clean and organized work areas, documenting work accurately, and learning how raw materials affect dinnerware quality and production flow.

This role works closely with experienced production employees and may support slip making, glaze making, clay preparation, wastewater support, kiln support, and general material handling depending on business needs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, batching, labeling, and movement of dinnerware raw materials according to established recipes, procedures, and production needs.

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in raw materials work areas, including pressure washing, cleaning equipment, organizing storage areas, and preparing material bins for transfer.
  • Support kiln-related work as assigned, including loading, unloading, counting pieces, recording information, and assisting with basic kiln preparation or follow-up under direction.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including safe equipment use, forklift procedures if certified, dust collection practices, material handling requirements, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production records, batch information, counts, labels, and other documentation as assigned.
  • Communicate material concerns, quality issues, safety concerns, or equipment problems.

  • No prior ceramics production experience required. Previous experience in production, material handling, glaze making, clay processing, slip batching, or mold making is helpful.
  • Comfort working in a hands-on plant environment.
  • Basic math, measuring, and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to learn from experienced team members during a training period.
  • Respect for quality, craftsmanship, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Ability to use a computer and complete basic production records and documentation.
